Position: Design Engineer

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: £40-45k DOE

Due to continued growth, there is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Design Engineering team specialising in the design and manufacture of manufacturing machinery.

You will be expected to take full ownership of design, development, and release of machines for manufacture, as well as the production of build manuals, user manuals, statutory documentation, and testing documentation.

Design Engineer Position Overview

• The successful applicant will be involved in a wide range of activities within the engineering department and will report to the Lead Engineer.
• Machinery design for customer projects
• R&D initiatives
• Product development
• Cost-saving improvements.
• Equipment testing.

Design Engineer Job Requirements

• SolidWorks competency
• Experience with SolidWorks/EPDM Vault (advantageous)
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office applications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Good understanding of pneumatic control systems
• Knowledge of ATEX and CE marking requirements (preferred)
• Ideally 5+ years’ experience within the packaging or FMCG machinery industry

Design Engineer Salary & Benefits

• Salary circa £45,000 DOE
• Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, with flexibility required on occasion
