Job description

Senior Business Development Manager – Technology Partnerships & Event Sponsorship

Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional team meet-ups

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 base DOE + uncapped commission (OTE £155k–£205k+)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Rela8 Group

Rela8 Group connects leading technology vendors with senior IT, security, and data decision-makers through curated executive events and communities.

Through our Technology Leaders Club platform we bring together CISOs, CIOs, CTOs and data leaders for high-trust peer interaction across executive summits, private dinners, roundtables and bespoke experiences.

Our partners range from global enterprise vendors to fast-growing SaaS scale-ups looking to build pipeline and meaningful relationships with senior buyers across the UK and Europe.

We’re now looking for a commercially sharp Senior Business Development Manager to help technology partners engage this community and grow their presence across our event portfolio.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of sales, marketing, and partnership strategy.

You will work directly with technology vendors to understand their go-to-market priorities, target accounts and pipeline objectives, and position Rela8’s event formats as a platform to connect them with the right executive audience.

Rather than selling generic sponsorship packages, the focus is on consultative partnerships that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.

Our formats include:

  • Executive CISO & Data Leadership Summits
  • Private Executive Dinners
  • Virtual Roundtables
  • Bespoke “Signature Experiences” with senior decision-makers

What You’ll Be Doing

You will own the full commercial cycle, from prospecting through to closing multi-event partnerships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and managing a strong pipeline across cybersecurity, SaaS, data, AI and cloud technology vendors
  • Running structured discovery conversations with Heads of Marketing, Field Marketing, ABM, Partnerships and Revenue leaders
  • Understanding client objectives such as pipeline generation, account engagement and brand positioning
  • Developing tailored sponsorship proposals aligned to those objectives
  • Closing partnerships typically ranging from £20k – £150k+
  • Managing opportunities and forecasts through CRM
  • Handing over signed partnerships to the delivery team to ensure seamless execution
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of messaging, sales strategy and market positioning
  • Most sales conversations take place via Zoom discovery calls and consultative follow-ups.

Ideal Background

We are open to candidates from two backgrounds:

Experienced Event / Sponsorship Sales Professionals

OR

Commercially minded Field / Event / Partner Marketers who want to move into a revenue role

You will likely have:

  • 4–8+ years’ experience in B2B technology marketing, partnerships, or sponsorship sales
  • Experience working with cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud or data vendors
  • A strong understanding of how vendors build pipeline and measure marketing ROI
  • Confidence speaking with senior stakeholders, including CMOs, CROs, Heads of Field Marketing, ABM and Partnerships
  • A consultative mindset focused on outcomes rather than transactional selling
  • Strong organisation and pipeline management skills
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is beneficial.

Why This Role Is Different

Unlike many event companies, we focus on high-trust executive engagement rather than large-scale exhibitions.

Our events are designed around a simple principle:

Right People. Right Room. Right Time.

This creates strong outcomes for partners and allows our team to build long-term strategic relationships rather than purely transactional sales.

What We Offer

  • Very realistic six-figure earning potential
  • High-value sponsorship products with proven market demand
  • Remote working with a collaborative team culture
  • 21 days holiday + bank holidays + 2-week Christmas shutdown + birthday off
  • Staff perks via BrightHR
  • Laptop and full sales toolkit
  • Regular team meet-ups and ongoing training

Important

This role focuses exclusively on technology vendor partnerships and sponsorship revenue.

You will not be responsible for selling delegate tickets or event management
