Senior Business Development Manager — Diagnostics (South UK)

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to drive new business and manage strategic NHS accounts across the UK, with a particular focus on the south of England. You will be responsible for a significant portfolio of core diagnostics contracts, working across capital equipment, managed services, and digital health solutions.
This is a genuine hunter role - you will be targeting new NHS accounts, leading contract negotiations, and positioning the business as a long-term performance partner at the highest levels of healthcare organisations.
What You Will Be Doing
- Winning new NHS enterprise accounts and managing the full sales cycle from identification to contract close
- Building relationships across the full stakeholder landscape - lab managers, Chief Clinical Scientists, hospital directors, C-suite, and finance
- Developing strategic account plans aligned to customer objectives and portfolio strategy
- Leading cross-functional teams to deliver against account strategy
- Negotiating profitable, complex contracts covering capital equipment, services, and digital solutions
- Collaborating with internal teams including clinical specialists and supply chain partners
What We Are Looking For
- A consultative, insight-led approach to enterprise sales — you lead with value, not product
- Proven track record winning and managing large, complex contracts (£10m+ preferred)
- Experience engaging at C-suite and senior NHS stakeholder level
- Background in diagnostics, pathology, lab services, healthcare consultancy, or adjacent life sciences sector
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Based in, or willing to be based in, the south of England
What Is On Offer
- Base salary: £80,000–£90,000
- Annual bonus: up to 40%
