Job description

Bid Manager – Healthcare & Public Health Services

UK (Remote with occasional travel to London, Leeds or Manchester)

Permanent

£50,000 to £60,000 + bonus

A rapidly growing digital healthcare organisation is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead and deliver high-impact tenders across NHS and public health services.

This organisation operates at the crossroads between clinical expertise, digital innovation and public health delivery, with a mission to expand access to evidence-based preventative healthcare.

This role will play a critical part in securing new NHS and public health contracts, supporting the growth of services that improve long-term health outcomes across communities.

The Role

As Bid Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process for NHS and public health tenders. This is more than coordination - you will be accountable for ensuring every submission is strategically aligned, commercially strong, and technically flawless.

Working closely with clinical, operational, digital and commercial teams, you will translate complex internal capabilities into clear, compelling proposals that resonate with commissioners.

You will also help build and mature the organisation’s bid management capability, developing processes, structure and consistency as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management of NHS and public health bids, ensuring submissions meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Analyse and interpret Invitation to Tender (ITT) documentation, ensuring all requirements are addressed thoroughly.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including clinical, operational, finance, HR and marketing to deliver high-quality submissions within strict deadlines.
  • Write clear, concise and persuasive bid responses, communicating complex healthcare services and outcomes effectively.
  • Develop a cohesive narrative across the entire submission, ensuring proposals present a unified and compelling story.
  • Ensure bids reflect strong commercial positioning, evidence-based impact and service differentiation.
  • Contribute to improving internal bid processes, tools and content libraries to create a more scalable bid function.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 5 years of proven experience managing bids for healthcare services, ideally within NHS or public health environments.
  • Track record delivering medium to large value tenders (£2M–£20M Total Contract Value).
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and commissioner priorities.
  • Exceptional written communication and bid writing skills, with the ability to translate complex operational models into clear proposals.
  • Commercially minded and motivated by growth, impact and winning competitive bids.

Why This Role?

This is a high-visibility role at the centre of a rapidly expanding healthcare business focused on prevention and population health.

It’s an opportunity to shape and build a high-performing bid function while contributing to meaningful improvements in public health outcomes across the UK.
