Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager – Interim – Social Housing – Caernarfon, North Wales – £400 to £500 per day – Ref: INDSOH

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join a Social Housing organisation based in Caernarfon, North Wales on an interim basis.

This Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager role sits at a senior level and will suit someone who has operated as a Quantity Surveyor, QS, or Commercial Manager within housing repairs, construction, or maintenance environments.

The Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager will lead procurement, contract management and re tendering activities across responsive repairs and maintenance services. This Commercial Manager position will play a key role in strengthening commercial oversight, improving contract performance and ensuring value for money across the service.

The role

As Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for procurement and commercial management across responsive repairs contracts. The Commercial Manager will ensure strong contract governance, support operational teams, and deliver effective procurement and tender processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and re tendering of responsive repairs contracts

• Manage contract negotiations and commercial arrangements

• Provide commercial oversight across maintenance and repairs programmes

• Ensure contracts are compliant with procurement regulations and organisational policy

• Manage contractor performance and commercial risk

• Support operational teams to improve cost control and value for money

• Implement commercial management processes and reporting

• Work with stakeholders to improve procurement and contract management frameworks

About you

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, QS, or Commercial Manager within construction, maintenance, or Social Housing

• Strong experience in procurement, tendering and contract management

• Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction contract frameworks

• Experience managing responsive repairs or maintenance contracts desirable

• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
