Job description
THE OPPORTUNITY
Enemigo is not a corporate tequila brand. It is a founder-led business built on exceptional liquid, serious ambition, and a refusal to do things the way everyone else does. We are backed by one of Mexico’s most respected family offices and growing fast across international markets. The UK is a priority, and this role covers the entire country, not just London. We need someone who can build Enemigo’s presence from Mayfair to Manchester and everywhere in between.
This is a field sales role. Not field sales in the sense that you visit a few accounts a week and spend the rest of the time on calls. Field sales in the sense that you are out every day: walking into venues, pouring samples, winning over bartenders and buyers, and coming back the next week to make sure they reorder. London will be your home base, but you will spend significant time on the road building relationships with accounts, bar groups, and buyers across the UK.
Small and medium-sized bar groups are a particular priority. The UK’s drinking is increasingly happening outside the big hotel chains and London flagship venues. We want someone who already has connections into these groups nationwide and understands how to win their business: the right contact, the right moment, the right pour.
You will work closely with our wholesale and distribution partners to ensure Enemigo is listed, available, and moving. But the sell-through is on you. Nobody is going to hand you a comfortable book of business. You are going to build one.
A major new SKU launches in SOND 2026 at a more accessible price point, with the same outstanding liquid Enemigo is known for. That opens up an entirely new tier of accounts beyond the luxury and prestige venues where we already sit. If you have ever wanted to build a spirits brand across every level of the UK market, from neighbourhood cocktail bars to five-star hotel programmes to premium off-trade, this is the role.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Sell. Every day. This role is measured on placements, volume, and new account wins. Everything else is secondary.
- Be in market. Walk into bars, restaurants, hotels, and retailers across London and the wider UK. Introduce Enemigo to buyers who have never heard of it and deepen relationships with those who have.
- Build relationships with small and medium-sized bar groups nationwide. These are a strategic priority and you should be the person they think of when they think of Enemigo.
- Leverage your existing network across the UK on- and off-trade to accelerate distribution from day one.
- Conduct tastings, staff trainings, and brand activations that create genuine pull at account level. You are the brand in market.
- Work with wholesale and distribution partners to ensure listings, availability, and consistent supply. Chase the details so accounts never run dry.
- Lead the in-market launch of the new SKU in SOND, securing placements across both prestige and volume channels.
- Travel regularly across the UK. London is your base, but this role requires consistent nationwide presence.
- Maintain accurate records of account activity, pipeline, and sales data. Keep it simple, keep it honest.
- Feed market intelligence back to the Global Sales Director: what is working, what is not, what competitors are doing, and where the opportunities are.
- Represent Enemigo at trade shows, industry events, and tastings across the UK.
WHO YOU ARE
- Experience in spirits, wine, or premium drinks sales in the UK market with genuine contacts you can activate immediately, in London and beyond.
- Connections to small and medium-sized bar groups across the UK. You know the buyers, you know the culture, and you know how these groups make listing decisions.
- Equally comfortable walking into a new account cold and working a room where you already know everyone.
- Relentless on follow-up. You do not let opportunities go stale.
- Self-motivated and organised. You plan your own week, manage your own route, and do not need someone checking on you.
- A natural communicator who can read a room and adapt. You sell differently to a Mayfair hotel bar than you do to an independent cocktail spot in Leeds.
- Genuine passion for spirits. You drink the category (responsibly), you know what is happening in it, and you have a view on where it is going.
- Happy to travel. This is a London-based role but you will be on the road regularly across the UK.
- Hungry to grow. This is a role with real upside for someone who delivers, including the potential to take on broader UK or EMEA.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
First 90 Days | Learn and Land
- Know the portfolio inside out. Taste everything, understand the production story, and be able to sell it with conviction.
- Map the territory. Identify the top 50 target accounts across London and the wider UK, spanning luxury on-trade, mid-tier on-trade, bar groups, and premium off-trade.
- Begin activating your existing contacts: first meetings booked, first placements secured.
- Identify the key small and medium-sized bar groups nationwide and begin building relationships with their buyers and operators.
- Establish a daily and weekly rhythm of account visits and travel. Set a pace you can sustain and build on.
- Understand the wholesale and distribution landscape. Know who lists us, who should, and how to get product moving through the right channels.
Months 4–6 | Build Momentum
- Consistent new account openings month on month across London and the wider UK. Your pipeline should be growing, not flattening.
- Reorder rates climbing in early placements. New doors are only valuable if they keep buying.
- Bar group relationships developing into multi-site listings, not just one-off placements.
- A clear picture of the competitive landscape and your territory’s strengths and gaps, both in London and key regional markets.
- Pre-sell groundwork underway for the SOND new SKU launch. Target accounts identified, buyers briefed, launch calendar taking shape.
- A visible presence in the UK trade. People should be starting to associate your face with Enemigo.
Months 7–12 | Deliver
- Successful SOND launch of the new SKU with strong placement across both prestige and volume accounts nationwide.
- Distribution and volume targets met or exceeded.
- A healthy, growing book of accounts with strong relationships at buyer level across London and key UK cities.
- Multiple bar group partnerships delivering repeat orders across their estates.
- A reputation in the UK trade as someone who is serious, reliable, and worth taking a meeting with.
- A clear case for expanded responsibility, whether that means deeper UK coverage, European markets, or both.
WHY JOIN ENEMIGO
- Founder-led, not corporate. No red tape, no six-month approval cycles. Decisions happen fast.
- Exceptional liquid that sells itself once it is in the glass. You will never have to apologise for what is in the bottle.
- A genuine ground-floor opportunity in one of the fastest-growing categories in spirits.
- Direct access to senior leadership. Your work is seen and your voice is heard.
- The chance to launch a new SKU into one of the most influential drinks markets in the world and own how it lands, nationwide.
- Real career upside. We promote people who deliver, and the EMEA business is growing fast enough that there is somewhere for them to go.
COMPENSATION
Base salary of £55,000 GBP plus performance-based bonus structure. This is a role for someone motivated by building something and being rewarded for it.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Answer these three questions honestly. If you cannot say yes to all three, this is probably not the right role for you.
- Can you name 20 on-trade accounts across the UK right now where you could get a meeting this month, including at least five outside London?
- Are you comfortable walking into a venue you have never visited and leaving with a tasting on the calendar?
- Do you genuinely enjoy being out in accounts five days a week and travelling regularly across the UK, or are you looking for something that will eventually become a desk job?
If the answer is yes to all three, we want to hear from you.
