Founding DevOps Engineer / SRE

FinTech fighting Financial Crime (Series A)

Hybrid – Central London (3 days per week, City)

£90,000 - £110,000 + Equity + Benefits

This Series-A FinTech is building the intelligence layer for payments — technology that investigates transactions in real-time before they clear, helping banks stop scams before money leaves an account.

They’re now hiring their first DevOps Engineer to build the reliability foundations of the platform.

The Role: Founding DevOps Engineer

This isn’t a “keep the lights on” role. You’ll design and build the reliability, observability and infrastructure foundations that allow a fast-moving engineering team to ship safely.

You’ll:

• Own production reliability, monitoring, alerting, incident response and post-incident learning
• Build and evolve the Infrastructure as Code (Terraform on GCP)
• Implement observability across the stack: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards
• Improve deployment pipelines and release processes
• Design secure-by-default infrastructure
• Shape the company’s incident response culture and processes
• Introduce tooling to monitor AI-native systems and non-deterministic agents
• You’ll be defining what “good” reliability looks like from day one.

What They’re Looking For

• 4+ years in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering
• Strong Terraform & Infrastructure-as-Code experience
• Experience running production distributed systems
• Built monitoring, alerting and observability in real environments
• Comfortable running incident response and post-mortems
• Strong understanding of security fundamentals
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines

Bonus points for:

• Early-stage startup experience (especially as the first DevOps/SRE hire)
• GCP experience
• FinTech or other regulated environments
