Electronics Technician - UAV / Drones - Buckinghamshire - 3 Month - Contract (Outside IR35)
Location: Buckinghamshire UK (On-site)
Rate: £35ph to £45ph (This is negotiable DOE)

About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing advanced engineering company developing high-performance inspection and aerial technology platforms used in demanding industrial and infrastructure environments.
Their systems combine precision electronics, compact mechanical design and advanced sensing technologies to deliver high-end inspection capabilities. The technology is used in applications where reliability, precision and performance are critical.
Due to continued growth and product development, the company is expanding its technical build team and is looking to hire two Electronics Assembly Technicians to support the assembly and integration of next-generation systems.
The Role
This is a hands-on electronics assembly role focused on building compact electronic systems and harness assemblies used within advanced inspection platforms.
The work involves small, intricate electronic components, so experience with precision wiring, PCB integration and connector termination is essential.
The systems being built are similar in scale and complexity to those used in UAVs, drones, robotics or other compact electronic platforms, requiring a high level of attention to detail and quality.
You will work closely with engineering teams to support both prototype development and low-volume production builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly of small-scale electronic systems and modules
- Wiring and integration of PCBs and electronic components
- Building and routing precision wiring harnesses
- Crimping, terminating and soldering connectors
- Supporting prototype and small-batch production builds
- Carrying out basic testing and fault-finding of assemblies
- Working from engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
Required Experience
- Experience in electronics assembly, electrical harnessing or precision wiring
- Strong skills in crimping, connector termination and PCB wiring
- Experience working with small-scale or intricate electronic assemblies
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and build documentation
- High attention to detail and strong manual dexterity
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with UAVs, drones, robotics or compact electronic systems
- Background in aerospace, defence, robotics or advanced electronics
- Experience supporting R&D or prototype builds
- Familiarity with electronics testing equipment
