We’re Hiring: Infrastructure Engineer (Virtualisation) – London (Hybrid)

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Virtualisation) to design, build, and manage virtualisation platforms that ensure resilience, security, and scalability for critical business services.

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)


What You’ll Do

  • Engineer, operate, and continuously improve virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V).
  • Manage platform lifecycle: patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and hardware refreshes.
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and standardise virtualisation builds.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
  • Maintain compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across storage, networking, OS, cloud, and applications.


What We’re Looking For


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter or Hyper-V).
  • Background in infrastructure engineering or platform operations in enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in platform upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of server hardware, storage integration, and enterprise networking.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change).


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python) and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud integration and container workloads.
  • Participation in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
