Applied AI Scientist / AI Engineer

AI & Robotics Division | Oxford

Onsite Requirement- x2 days per week

A rapidly growing global research and technology institute is expanding its Applied AI division, growing from ~100 to ~200 employees over the next year. The team focuses on translating cutting-edge AI research into real-world impact across healthcare, climate, food security, robotics, and advanced materials.

Unlike pure research groups, the Applied AI team works directly with scientists and collaborators to define problems, build models and pipelines, and deliver usable solutions. The group collaborates closely with Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams to deploy scalable AI systems.

Key Focus Areas

• Health foundation models (DNA / patient journey modelling)
• Autonomous Labs – ML, vision, sensors, and robotics to automate lab workflows
• Applied partnerships in vaccines, clinical modelling, plant phenotyping, and materials research

We’re Hiring

Applied AI Scientists and AI Engineers across multiple levels, with interest in:

• Computer Vision (3D reconstruction, sensor systems)
• Protein / DNA modelling
• LLM engineering with production deployment

Candidates should be comfortable building robust ML pipelines and scalable systems, working closely with domain experts, and delivering practical outputs for scientific users.

Teams work in cross-functional groups, with core in-person collaboration days twice per week.
