HSEQ Manager – Civil Engineering Water / Wastewater Treatment Upgrades
Role Overview
The HSEQ Manager will lead and manage Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) performance across wastewater treatment upgrade projects. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices while supporting safe and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSEQ management systems for wastewater treatment upgrade projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation, environmental regulations, and water industry standards.
- Lead site safety initiatives, risk assessments, and method statement reviews.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations to identify improvements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across contractors, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Support environmental compliance including waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental monitoring.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are implemented throughout construction and commissioning activities.
- Provide HSEQ training, toolbox talks, and guidance to site teams.
- Liaise with regulators, clients, and internal stakeholders on HSEQ matters.
- Monitor and report HSEQ performance and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HSEQ management within water or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and construction environments.
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety / Environmental Management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- Experience implementing HSEQ systems and conducting audits.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable
- Experience working on wastewater treatment plant upgrades or capital delivery programmes.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Chartered or working toward professional membership in a relevant body.
