Senior Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) – Electrical Bias

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Shift Allowance + Benefits (Total package circa £50,000)

Monday-Friday


I am recruiting an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a leading manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong electrical bias to support production through effective maintenance and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide maintenance engineers and TPM engineers in daily tasks
  • Collaborate closely with technical support, quality, and manufacturing teams
  • Promote safe working practices and maintain a clean, healthy working environment
  • Work with specialist equipment and support new machine introductions
  • Carry out routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on automated production lines
  • Perform fault finding across electrical, robotics, PLC, HMI, servo motors, and drives
  • Lead continuous improvement activities on production equipment


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 10 years’ maintenance experience in mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Strong CNC experience (mechanical & electrical)
  • PLC trained with experience in Fanuc robots and servo motors/drives
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • HNC Electrical/Electronic qualification or higher
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work on own initiative and collaboratively within a team
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations
  • Willing to work a double day shift pattern, with weekend and shutdown maintenance support as needed

Hours:

Double day shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Mon-Thurs 6am–2pm, Fri 6am–11am
  • Week 2: Mon-Thurs 2pm–10pm, Fri 11am–4pm
