Infrastructure Engineer (Azure / Microsoft Stack)

Location: UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000

Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a strong Microsoft technology background to support the delivery of major infrastructure and platform improvement initiatives.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementing operating system upgrades, database upgrades, Azure cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 configuration, and backup/disaster recovery improvements across enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with solution architects, internal IT teams and third-party suppliers to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure changes while ensuring compliance with security standards and architectural governance.

Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver hands-on technical implementation across infrastructure and platform projects
• Support operating system and database upgrades
• Implement Azure cloud migrations and infrastructure improvements
• Configure and support Microsoft 365 services
• Implement and maintain identity and access management solutions
• Deliver improvements across backup, monitoring and disaster recovery platforms
• Perform technical discovery, configuration, testing and troubleshooting
• Coordinate implementation activities with internal IT teams and third-party suppliers
• Ensure all changes follow security standards, architectural guidelines and operational governance
• Produce as-built documentation and support handover to operational teams

Required Experience

• Strong experience with Microsoft Server environments
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience configuring and supporting Microsoft 365
• Knowledge of Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID)
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies
• Experience supporting hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructure
• Strong troubleshooting and implementation capability
• Previous experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
