About the Role

We are seeking a technically confident and hands-on Lighting & AV Systems Technician to deliver and maintain immersive projection-led experiences, including large-scale Night Walk installations across heritage and cultural sites.

You will work as part of a dedicated technical team and will receive full support from an experienced AV department with a proven track record in delivering and operating large-scale immersive installations. You will not be working in isolation — projects are developed collaboratively, with structured planning and technical oversight.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Commissioning
  • Install and commission high-lumen laser and short-throw projection systems.

  • Align and calibrate projectors for façade projection, mapping and multi-projector edge blending.

  • Install and program DMX-controlled architectural and landscape lighting.

  • Integrate synchronised audio systems for immersive soundscapes

  • Configure and commission show control systems to manage timed sequences and triggered experiences

  • Test and verify full system integration prior to public opening
Show Control & Systems Integration
  • Program and configure show controllers for automated playback sequences

  • Integrate lighting, projection and audio into unified timed or triggered experiences

  • Configure timecode-based playback (where applicable)

  • Set up sensor or trigger-based activation (PIR, button, scheduled events)

  • Work with media servers and playback devices

  • Troubleshoot synchronisation or signal latency issues

  • Maintain system stability during live operation

  • Projector & System Maintenance
    • Provide preventative and reactive maintenance for projection and AV systems

    • Diagnose and resolve projection faults (alignment, brightness, colour, signal loss, overheating)

    • Perform recalibration, firmware updates and system checks

    • Maintain outdoor projection housings and weatherproofing

    • Keep clear service documentation
    Essential Experience
    • Experience installing and maintaining professional projection systems

    • Hands-on experience configuring show control systems

    • Strong understanding of AV signal flow and system integration

    • Knowledge of DMX lighting systems and control protocols

    • Experience synchronising lighting, projection and audio

    • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills

    • Comfortable working outdoors and at height

    • Right to work in the UK
    Highly Desirable
    • Experience with immersive or Night Walk-style installations

    • Media server experience

    • Familiarity with timecode systems

    • IP-based AV knowledge

    • Electrical qualifications

    • IPAF / PASMA / CSCS certification
