Job Title: Business Development Manager – Workwear & PPE

Salary: Up to £57k basic with bonus

Location: Remote - UK (Field-Based – North of England Coverage)

Reporting to: General Manager

About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing organisation operating across the UK and wider European markets is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its commercial team. The company specialises in supplying workwear, PPE and safety solutions to organisations operating in safety-critical and operationally demanding sectors.


This is a key field-based role focused on developing new business opportunities, managing major accounts and driving revenue growth across the UK market. The successful candidate will play an important role in expanding the company’s customer base while building long-term relationships with organisations that rely on high-quality safety and compliance solutions.


The Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing new customers while developing existing strategic accounts. This role requires a proactive, commercially focused sales professional who can independently generate opportunities, manage the full sales cycle and contribute to the company’s growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across targeted industry sectors
  • Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers within major accounts
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through to tender submission and contract award
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits and strategic account reviews to identify growth opportunities
  • Promote workwear, PPE and safety solutions aligned with industry standards and compliance requirements
  • Prepare quotations, commercial proposals and tender submissions
  • Maintain an accurate and structured sales pipeline using CRM systems
  • Deliver against agreed sales activity, pipeline and revenue targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure coordinated customer support and service delivery


Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience within PPE, workwear or related industrial consumables sectors
  • Proven success in business development, account management and solution selling
  • Experience contributing to or leading tender responses and commercial proposals
  • Demonstrated ability to independently generate new leads and opportunities
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience using CRM systems, LinkedIn and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline management and forecasting capability
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a field-based sales environment


Package
