Job description
Are you an experienced sales leader with a passion for coaching, developing talent, and driving high‑performance teams? A leading investment management business is looking for an Internal Sales Team Manager to lead a high‑performing internal sales hub and play a key role in delivering best‑in‑class adviser support.
This is a pure people‑leadership role - no personal sales targets, no distribution, and no direct selling. Your success is measured by the performance, growth, and development of your team.
The Opportunity:
As the Internal Sales Team Manager, you will lead a group of BDMs and BDAs, ensuring consistent delivery of proactive adviser engagement and seamless execution of sales campaigns. You will act as a role model for excellence, supporting strategic initiatives and driving performance across internal sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead and develop a defined team of BDMs/BDAs.
- Hold regular 1:1s, call coaching and performance reviews.
- Set clear expectations around KPIs and activity levels.
- Foster a culture of proactivity, accountability and adviser‑first service.
Performance Management
- Translate business targets into actionable team KPIs.
- Monitor activity and performance dashboards daily (Salesforce).
- Identify underperformance early and implement improvement plans.
- Celebrate and reward success across the team.
Sales Campaign Execution
- Deliver internal sales campaigns and messaging aligned with the broader sales strategy.
- Ensure consistent use of scripts, templates and adviser outreach plans.
- Track campaign effectiveness and provide performance insights.
- Encourage innovation and contribution of new ideas.
Data & Salesforce Excellence
- Ensure clean, accurate activity and pipeline records.
- Generate weekly performance and trend reports.
- Maintain high standards of adviser engagement and conversion tracking.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Work closely with external BDMs to ensure cohesive adviser coverage.
- Partner with Marketing on messaging and campaign output.
- Share structured feedback to influence future KPIs and sales processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
- Lead knowledge‑sharing sessions within the wider team.
- Support webinars, events and adviser engagement initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience managing a sales team (internal or external).
- Understands the intermediated financial advice market.
- Can confidently coach, mentor and develop high‑performing salespeople.
- Is comfortable holding people accountable and guiding difficult conversations.
- Brings a proactive, positive, collaborative leadership style.
- Thrives in a role focused solely on people and performance development.
What’s on Offer
- A genuinely supportive, people‑focused culture.
- A business where contributions are recognised, and high performers progress quickly.
- Strong onboarding, training and ongoing professional development.
- A collaborative team environment that constantly looks for ways to improve.
- Opportunities to shape processes and influence team success.
