Power Electronics Engineer – Automotive Inverters

Location: [Bnabury, UK]

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to join our growing engineering team, working on the design and development of advanced automotive power electronics systems, including traction inverters and high-voltage power conversion technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge electrification projects within the rapidly evolving automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automotive power electronics systems, including traction inverters and high-power DC-DC converters
  • Create and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
  • Perform circuit simulation, analysis, and component selection for high-voltage and high-current applications
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation of power electronics hardware
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, mechanical, and systems engineers
  • Ensure designs meet automotive standards, reliability, and safety requirements
  • Assist with debugging, performance optimization, and product improvement activities
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience designing power electronics hardware
  • Proficiency using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Strong understanding of power conversion topologies, switching devices, and control methods
  • Experience with high-voltage or automotive electronics systems
  • Knowledge of testing and validation techniques for power electronics
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with automotive traction inverters or motor drive systems
  • Familiarity with SiC / GaN power devices
  • Experience with thermal design, EMC/EMI mitigation, and reliability analysis
  • Understanding of automotive development processes and standards
