2x Mechanical & Electrical Build Technician (All Levels)

Location: Kidlington, Oxfordshire

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000

Level: open to all levels but you MUST have experience in electrical wiring

The team is small, fast‑moving, and highly collaborative, working across R&D, prototype development, manufacturing of drop‑in EV kits, and bespoke classic vehicle conversions. Whether you’re early in your career or already an experienced vehicle builder, this role offers hands‑on involvement in some of the most innovative EV projects in the UK.


We are seeking multi skilled electrical technicians Electrical wiring or battery build technicians and we can train and upskill people and offer training and development.


This is not a production line role, you must be able to prototype and be proactive with new ideas.


Worked in motorsport or automotive or be passionate about motorsport an is a benefit but not a must!


Role Overview


You will support the strip, build, and integration of mechanical and electrical systems for EV conversion projects. Depending on your experience, you may focus on wiring and harness build, mechanical assembly, or full vehicle integration — with clear progression into senior build, diagnostics, and specialist roles.


This is a workshop-based position suited to practical, detail‑driven individuals who enjoy problem‑solving and want to develop or apply skills in automotive electrification.


Key Skills:



• Build and assemble client vehicles through to handover

• Strip legacy drivetrains and install EV systems including HV batteries, motors, inverters, cooling, HVAC, and associated components

• Assemble, route, and install wiring looms and harnesses

• Prepare, crimp, solder, and terminate electrical connectors (training provided for junior levels)

• Follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and build instructions

• Carry out continuity checks, basic diagnostics, and quality inspections

• Maintain accurate build records and documentation

• Collaborate with engineering teams on specifications, design, and continuous improvement

• Support the development of internal and external work instructions

• Maintain organised workspaces, tools, and component stock

• Adhere to health & safety and 5S principles

• Perform additional workshop duties as required



Skills & Experience (Entry-Level to Experienced)

Essential (all levels)


• Practical interest in automotive, electrical, or mechanical engineering

• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work

• Ability to follow instructions, diagrams, and processes accurately

• Confident using hand tools and basic workshop equipment

• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and proactive approach



Experienced Technician Requirements (mid–senior applicants)


• Minimum 3 years’ niche vehicle build, assembly, or wiring experience

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Excellent communication skills and self‑driven work ethic

• Experience in prototype, low‑volume, or specialist vehicle builds


Desirable (all levels considered)


• Classic car repair or restoration experience

• Automotive HVAC knowledge

• Crimping, soldering, or harness assembly experience

• Understanding of CANbus or automotive electrical systems

• Metal fabrication or mechanical assembly skills

• Familiarity with MS Office, Asana, Jira, or similar tools

• Level 2/3 qualification in automotive, electrical, or engineering discipline

• Previous workshop, garage, or hands‑on technical experience
