Design Engineer

Interv_l Group | B Corp™ is looking for a Design Engineer

Job description

We’re supporting a high-growth, well-backed organisation at the forefront of EV infrastructure development.

They are delivering next-generation high-power charging solutions across the UK, with strong backing, live projects, and a clear roadmap to scale both nationally and internationally.

As part of this growth, they are looking to bring in a Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer to take ownership of site and infrastructure design across a portfolio of EV charging projects.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, design-led role where you’ll play a key part in shaping how EV charging infrastructure is deployed at scale.

You’ll be responsible for the civil and site design of high-power charging installations, working across projects from early feasibility through to construction and delivery.

You’ll collaborate closely with DNOs, ICPs, contractors, and internal engineering teams, ensuring designs are both technically robust and commercially viable.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading civil infrastructure design for EV charging sites
  • Producing detailed designs including:
  • Cable ducting & trenching layouts
  • Foundations & equipment bases
  • Site layouts, access roads & hardstanding
  • Drainage & groundworks considerations
  • Supporting site feasibility and surveys
  • Coordinating with utilities (DNOs/IDNOs/ICPs) for grid connections
  • Driving design reviews and value engineering
  • Working across multiple projects, ensuring delivery is efficient, compliant, and buildable

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in civil infrastructure design
  • Experience with utilities, ducting, trenching, or similar infrastructure works
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D)
  • Experience working with or alongside utility providers or electrical infrastructure stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of design deliverables

Bonus if you have:

  • EV charging or energy infrastructure experience
  • Exposure to DNOs / ICPs
  • Experience across renewables, highways, or power projects

Why This Role?

  • Be part of a business actively scaling in the EV and energy transition space
  • Work on complex, high-power infrastructure projects
  • Genuine opportunity to shape design standards and delivery approach
  • Strong backing, clear growth trajectory, and real project pipeline
