Remote/ South of England

Salary - up to £60,000 plus bonus & benefits


Our client is looking for an experienced SME Employee Benefits Consultant to join their dynamic and growing team. The role involves advising small to medium enterprise clients on their employee benefits programmes, with a strong focus on Group Risk and Healthcare, including death in service, income protection, critical illness, private medical insurance, dental, cash plans, and employee assistance programmes (EAPs).


You will manage a portfolio of clients, providing high-quality advice and service, supporting renewals, while also identifying opportunities to expand benefits offerings and develop new business. This is a client-facing role that combines relationship management, technical expertise, and business development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for SME clients, understanding their sector, benefits, and needs
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring all consultancy and administration tasks are completed accurately and proactively
  • Provide technical advice on Group Risk and Healthcare policies, collaborating with the operations team as required
  • Support renewals, claims, and medical underwriting to meet client needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and insurers, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and new business
  • Stay up to date with market trends, products, and developments across employee benefits and A&H
  • Ensure accurate client data is maintained across internal systems and technology platforms
  • Contribute to internal projects and initiatives, helping improve processes and client service
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards
  • Take ownership of personal development and proactively seek coaching and training opportunities


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience advising SME clients in Group Risk or Healthcare
  • Broader knowledge of Employee Benefits, including pensions and wellbeing, is highly desirable
  • Strong client management and consultative skills, with the ability to proactively manage a portfolio
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex benefits clearly to corporate clients and individual employees
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • CII GR1 (for Risk) and/or IF7 (for Healthcare) qualifications preferred
