Operations Manager

Technology Manufacturing / Advanced Hardware Environment

Are you an Operations Manager who enjoys bringing clarity, structure, and efficiency to complex engineering environments?

Do you thrive when building strong operational processes, improving quality systems, and leading teams delivering high-value products?

Looking for a role where you can shape how innovative technology moves from development into reliable production?

If so, this could be a fantastic next step.

Our client is a growing technology company developing advanced hardware platforms used in global markets. Following increased demand and continued investment, the organisation is entering a critical phase of operational scaling.

They are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of quality systems, supply chain performance, manufacturing readiness, and operational delivery.

This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in shaping how complex products are delivered at scale.

Why This Role is Great

As Operations Manager, you will sit at the heart of the organisation’s delivery capability, ensuring operational systems support both innovation and growth.

You’ll work closely with engineering and leadership teams to build the processes, partnerships, and operational discipline required to scale sophisticated products.

In this role you will get to:

  • Shape operational strategy by building workflows, processes, and documentation that support reliable product delivery
  • Lead quality and continuous improvement initiatives, strengthening systems for traceability, audit readiness, and problem resolution
  • Develop supplier and procurement strategies, ensuring strong performance across specialised technical supply chains
  • Drive operational readiness for new product launches, ensuring manufacturing, documentation, and service frameworks are prepared
  • Strengthen service and support capabilities, including troubleshooting processes and product support frameworks
  • Lead and mentor a small operations team, bringing together procurement, service, and operational expertise
  • Introduce meaningful operational metrics, tracking performance across delivery, quality, and supplier reliability
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operational environments

This role offers significant influence in how operations evolve as the business scales into new markets.

About You

You are an experienced Operations Manager or Senior Operations Leader who enjoys improving systems, solving complex problems, and working closely with engineering teams.

You may currently work in advanced manufacturing, technical hardware, engineering-led businesses, or complex supply chain environments.

You will likely bring experience with:

  • Quality management systems aligned with recognised international standards
  • Managing suppliers and procurement within complex technical supply chains
  • Operations or manufacturing environments involving precision or electromechanical systems
  • Continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies
  • Service, diagnostics, or product support processes
  • Leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional technical stakeholders

Additional experience with project management tools, operational finance, or scaling manufacturing processes would be beneficial but not essential.

Candidates with transferable operational leadership experience are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Gain

This opportunity offers the chance to join an organisation where operational leadership plays a central role in business success.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary around £62,500 – £65,000
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements where appropriate
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Equity or share participation opportunities
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance and income protection
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Employer pension contributions
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Wellbeing support initiatives
  • Professional development and training support
  • Opportunities to participate in volunteering initiatives
