Conflicts Lawyer


Leading US law firm renowned for their inclusive, collegiate firmwide culture is seeking a commercially minded qualified Conflicts Lawyer – this is an advisory and stakeholder facing position and will work directly with Partners and senior stakeholders across offices, providing clear, practical, and commercially grounded guidance, open to either highly experienced Conflicts Lawyers or ones who are new to the Conflicts field.

Conflicts Lawyer Key Responsibilities:


  • Review and analyse conflict reports to identify potential conflicts of interest and business issues
  • Conduct corporate and regulatory research using external databases to verify new clients and matter parties
  • Prepare conflict summaries for Partners outlining issues and proposed resolutions (e.g., waivers, ethical screens, internal clearances)
  • Review and approve New Business Forms in line with the firm’s intake policies and procedures
  • Advise Partners, Associates, and support teams on new business intake policies and procedures
  • Draft engagement letters, conflict waivers, and ethical screens as required
  • Participate in weekly Conflicts Staff Lawyer meetings and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements
  • Support the onboarding of lateral Partners and Associates from a conflicts and intake perspective


Conflicts Lawyer Skills & Requirements:


  • Open to seniority – minimum NQ level
  • Must be admitted to a recognised Law Society or Bar
  • Business enabling mindset rather than purely risk focused
  • Confident operating in a stakeholder facing environment
  • Strong communicator who can build credibility with Partners
