Not every Technical role needs a factory floor.

I’m working with a food brand owner and international importer looking for a Specification Technologist to join their small Technical team.

They source specialist food products from suppliers across Europe and Asia and distribute them to supermarkets, wholesalers and health food retailers in the UK and globally.

This role sits at the centre of customer specifications, supplier documentation and regulatory compliance. No production firefighting. Just making sure the paperwork behind the products stacks up.

What you’ll be doing

• Completing customer specifications, questionnaires and retailer documentation
• Managing supplier technical documentation and certificates
• Keeping product data accurate across ERP systems and internal databases
• Investigating technical queries and complaints
• Supporting NPD and packaging teams with compliance and label sign-off
• Ensuring documentation meets UK/EU food regulations and GFSI standards

What they’re looking for

• Experience in a Specification Technologist or similar technical documentation role
• Knowledge of UK/EU food legislation, allergen and labelling regulations
• Familiar with BRCGS or other GFSI standards
• Strong attention to detail and comfortable managing multiple technical documents

Salary is £35k - £38k depending on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.
