Sponsorship Manager
Leading Financial Services Membership Organisation
Hybrid working: 2.5 days in City of London office, 2.5 days from home

An exciting opportunity for a Sponsorship Managerr to join a highly respected membership organisation representing the UK’s financial and professional services sector.
If you are a partnerships, sponsorships manager with experience working with sponsors, partners in a trade association, professional body, not for profit, membership body, charity, subscription, financial services, professional services or similar we would love to hear from you.
To help lead and deliver the membership organisation’s sponsorship strategy, securing and growing sponsorship revenue in line with the organisation’s commercial goals. The Partnerships Manager will focus on building and managing relationships with sponsors and partners, with a particular emphasis on the Excellence in Financial Services Awards, industry survey, and other key partnership opportunities as outlined in the commercial strategy.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Key account planning and management
Develop and execute a sponsorship sales plan to achieve ambitious revenue targets set
out in membership organisation’s five-year commercial plan.
Identify, approach, and secure headline and supporting sponsors for membership organisation’s flagship events, including the Excellence in Financial Services Awards, major conferences, and annual industry survey.
Build and maintain a pipeline of sponsorable reports, campaigns, and thought leadership outputs, aligning opportunities with sponsor interests.
Develop and promote innovative sponsorship packages, including multi-year and tiered options, co-branded content, and exclusive engagement opportunities.
Collaborate with Account Managers to cross-sell sponsorship opportunities to existing members.
Relationship management
Build and nurture strong relationships with current and prospective sponsors, ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction.
Work closely with colleagues across the Member Insight Team and other internal teams (Events, Policy, Public Affairs, Research, Marketing) to deliver value for sponsors and ensure seamless execution of sponsorship agreements.
Act as a key point of contact for sponsors, providing regular updates, demonstrating ROI, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
Strategic development
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sponsorship strategy and identify new partnership opportunities.
Use data-driven insights to tailor sponsorship offerings and demonstrate value to sponsors.
Support the development and launch of new products (e.g., data-driven survey offerings) that deliver actionable insights for sponsors and content for media/member intelligence.
Awards and survey programme
Lead on securing and managing sponsors for the Excellence in Financial Services Awards, including revising award categories and enhancing marketing to maximise sponsor engagement.
Person Specification
Proven track record in sponsorship sales, partnership management, or business development, ideally within financial services, events, or trade body environments.
Strong commercial acumen and experience of delivering against ambitious revenue targets.
Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
Experience developing and managing sponsorship packages for events, awards, or research outputs.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
CRM experience and a data-driven approach to sales and relationship management.
Degree desirable.
