Job description
Justteachers are looking for a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Halifax. This full-time, long-term role involves supporting students aged 716 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. For the right candidate, this position has the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions.
Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour.
Support with personal care where necessary.
Collaborate with external professionals and parents/carers.
Contribute to a positive school culture and uphold safeguarding standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH (essential).
A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
