OverallPurposeoftheRole

ThepurposeofthisroleistosupporttheteamLead/CampusDeanindeliveringahigh-qualitystudentlearningexperiencewhiledevelopingtheskillsandknowledgerequiredforfutureleadership.TheTraineeTeamLeadwillgainexposuretoacademicteamcoordination,coursedelivery,andadministrativeduties,withastrongemphasisonacademicandstudentsupport.ThisroleoffersastructuredpathwaytogrowintoafullTeamLeadrolethroughguidedtraining,mentoring,andhands-onexperience.

PrincipleDuties:

• SupporttheTeamLead/CampusDeanwithday-to-dayacademiccoordinationandoperations.
• Shadowandassistwithacademicleadershiptasks,includingtimetabling,lecturerallocation,coverarrangements,andqualityassurance.
• SupportCourseCoordinatorsandLecturerswithclassdelivery,materials,assessments,andteachingstandards.
• Deliversupervisedteachingacrossfoundation,undergraduate,andpostgraduatelevels.
• Contributetocurriculumplanning,development,andacademicsupportinitiatives.
• Monitorstudentattendance,progress,andachievement,maintainingaccurateacademicrecords.
• Identifyandsupportat-riskstudentsincollaborationwithacademicandstudentsupportteams.
• Provideacademicandpastoralsupportthroughtutorials,officehours,andPATsupervision.
• Assistwithmarkingandprovidetimely,constructivefeedbackinlinewithacademicguidelines.
• Gatherstaffandstudentfeedbacktosupportcontinuousimprovementandstudentsuccess.
• Participateinacademicmeetings,events,inductionactivities,andcampus-wideinitiatives.
• Engageincontinuousprofessionaldevelopment,mentoring,andtrainingtoprepareforfutureleadershiproles.

PersonSpecification

Essential

• Mastersdegreeinarelevantdiscipline.
• FellowshipoftheHigherEducationAcademy(HEA)orwillingnesstoobtainwithinaspecifiedtimeframe.
• PGCertinTeaching&Learning(orequivalent)orcommitmenttocompletion.
• Experiencedeliveringteachinginhighereducationandsupportingstudentlearning.
• Experienceinmoduleleadershiporsupportingmodulecoordination.
• Strongorganisationalskillswiththeabilitytomanagemultipleacademicpriorities.
• Demonstratedcommitmenttostudentsupport,engagement,andacademicquality.
• Effectivecommunicationandinterpersonalskills,withtheabilitytoworkcollaborativelywithacademicandprofessionalservicesteams.

• PhDinarelevantsubjectarea.
