This SEN Teaching Assistant role in Kirklees offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning needs within specialist educational settings. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Kirklees, your responsibilities will include providing tailored 1:1 support, delivering targeted small group interventions, and offering structured assistance within the classroom to ensure pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), adapting learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have experience supporting children with additional needs and a strong understanding of effective behaviour management strategies, including positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques. Experience working with EHCPs, implementing personalised learning plans, and supporting pupils with communication or sensory needs would be highly advantageous.
