Assistant Headteacher (Primary) | Southwark | September Start

Are you an experienced primary leader ready to take the next step from September?

A well-regarded primary school in Southwark is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team from September. This role would suit an experienced middle leader or current senior leader with a strong track record of improving teaching and raising standards across the primary phase.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the strategic development of the school, working closely with the Headteacher and wider SLT to ensure consistency in teaching, behaviour and pupil outcomes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Responsibilities will reflect the strengths of the appointed candidate and the needs of the school.

Assistant Headteacher Key Responsibilities:
Lead on a whole-school area such as teaching and learning, curriculum, behaviour or assessment
Monitor the quality of teaching through observations, work scrutiny and data analysis
Support and line manage middle leaders
Drive improvements in pupil progress and attainment
Contribute to the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the school

Person Specification:
QTS and substantial primary teaching experience
Proven leadership experience (Year Group Lead, Phase Lead or equivalent)
Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment
Clear record of raising standards
Organised, approachable and able to lead by example
