Senior Bid Manager – Energy Infrastructure

Location: Motherwell, Scotland

Sector: Energy & Utilities Infrastructure

Salary: £90,000 per annum plus additional benefits

The Role

My client are seeking an experienced Senior Bid Manager to lead the preparation and delivery of high-value bids within the energy infrastructure sector. Based in Motherwell, this role is pivotal in securing new work across major UK energy and utilities frameworks and projects.

You will take full ownership of the bid process, working closely with pre-construction, estimating, commercial, and operational teams to develop winning tender strategies for complex infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end bid processes for energy infrastructure projects
• Develop and implement bid strategies aligned with business objectives
• Coordinate multidisciplinary bid teams, including internal stakeholders and external partners
• Review tender documentation, identify risks/opportunities, and ensure compliance
• Produce high-quality written submissions, including technical, commercial, and qualitative responses
• Manage bid programmes, governance, and approvals to tight deadlines
• Present bid strategies and recommendations to senior leadership
• Support continuous improvement of bid processes, tools, and content libraries

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Bid Manager (or Bid Manager ready to step up) within construction or infrastructure
• Strong background in energy, utilities, power, renewables, or major infrastructure projects
• Experience working for a main contractor is essential
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of risk management
• Highly organised, deadline-driven, and detail-focused
• Comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously
