What you will do:
- Deliver high-quality, timely stroke and TIA services in collaboration with other consultant colleagues.
- Provide clinical expertise to all staff involved in the delivery of stroke services, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines.
- Work with the ICS Stroke Clinical Lead to develop and implement a sustainable 7-day service model across the ICS.
- Manage the clinical care of patients and ensure continuity of care in conjunction with consultant colleagues when necessary.
- Offer clinical supervision and support to resident medical staff, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate education as required.
- Participate in weekend working arrangements, contributing to service delivery while benefiting from flexible scheduling.
Requirements:
- MRCP or equivalent, with full GMC registration and either on the specialist register or within six months of achieving it.
- Proven expertise and experience in stroke medicine and general internal medicine (GIM) or potential application via GMC CESR.
- Demonstrable ability to manage a Stroke Medicine caseload and commit to patient care across all stages.
- Willingness to fulfil all job description elements, including required shift patterns.
- Skilled in multidisciplinary clinical audit principles and the ability to integrate research findings into practice.
