Test & Commissioning Engineer

Global Machinery Manufacturer | Manchester | International Travel

£40,000 - £45,000 Per Annum


Join a leading global engineering business delivering cutting-edge industrial technology to customers worldwide. This is an opportunity to play a key role in testing, commissioning and delivering highly specialised machinery used in advanced manufacturing environments.

You will be part of a high-performing engineering team focused on quality, innovation and customer excellence, working on complex capital equipment projects both in the UK and internationally.


The Role


This is a hands-on engineering position combining factory-based machine testing with international site commissioning. You will take ownership of ensuring equipment is built, tested and delivered to the highest technical and operational standards.


You will work closely with internal engineering teams and global customers to support installation, commissioning and training activities.


Key Responsibilities


• Lead functional and performance testing of complex machinery prior to customer delivery

• Carry out international installation and commissioning at customer manufacturing sites

• Identify technical issues early and manage snagging lists to support efficient project delivery

• Provide technical training to customer teams on operation, safety and maintenance

• Work collaboratively with engineering, production and project teams

• Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety and quality standards

• Act as a technical representative of the business when working on customer sites


About You


You will be a practical, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working in dynamic environments and is comfortable travelling internationally.

• Experience working with industrial machinery, capital equipment or automation systems

• Strong mechanical understanding with exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and drive systems

• Confident communicator able to work effectively with customers and internal teams

• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on global assignments

• Enthusiastic about international travel and diverse working environments


Requirements


• HNC / HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering

• Experience testing, commissioning or installing industrial equipment

• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Understanding of PLC systems and AC / variable speed drives

• Full driving licence and willingness to travel globally
