DevOps Engineer - Junior-Senior

Location: Berkshire (On-site)

Security Clearance: Must be eligible for DV clearance


An opportunity has arisen for a DevOps Engineer to join a highly secure and innovative cyber and defence technology environment, supporting the development of advanced cryptographic and secure communication systems used in mission-critical operations.

Working within a DevOps and configuration management team, you will support multiple software and firmware projects, providing build management, configuration management, and CI/CD solutions across a range of development programmes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CI pipelines, ensuring they remain operational and deliver required outputs to project teams
  • Implement improvements and optimisations to existing CI/CD processes
  • Act as the DevOps interface for project teams, understanding development workflows and technical requirements
  • Monitor the DevOps environment using dashboards, investigating events and performing remediation where required
  • Support research and continuous improvement of DevOps tooling and processes
  • Test and validate changes within prototype environments before implementation
  • Work across multiple engineering teams across various technologies and locations


Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (Git, SVN, SourceTree, TortoiseSVN)
  • Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash or CMD)
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise or GitLab
  • Exposure to Configuration Management tools such as Ansible or Packer
  • Experience with task management tools (Jira, GitHub, GitLab)
