Job title: Civil / Senior Site Engineer

Location: Belfast, with travel across Northern Ireland and wider UK project locations where required.

Sector: Water infrastructure / utility civils / drainage / pipeline delivery.

Package guidance: £48,000 to £58,000 base for permanent hire, or contractor route as benchmarked above. Final package depends on level of direct utility and water relevance.

Purpose of role: To support the safe, accurate and commercially disciplined delivery of civil engineering works across water and utility projects. The engineer will take ownership of setting out, QA, records, technical coordination and field problem-solving to keep work fronts moving compliantly and to programme.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out and check setting out for pipelines, chambers, drainage runs, reinforced concrete structures and associated civils packages.
• Maintain accurate site records, as-built information, QA documentation, ITP evidence and red-line mark-ups.
• Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant and materials to keep live work fronts productive and safe.
• Support permits, temporary works coordination, inspections, method statements and toolbox talks.
• Identify technical issues early and escalate with practical solutions rather than paperwork alone.
• Work closely with project managers, supervisors, clients and supply chain partners across fast-moving infrastructure sites.

Essential requirements

• Degree, HND or equivalent practical level in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in site engineering on civils, utilities, drainage, water or wastewater projects.
• Competence in setting out, levels, QA processes and site documentation.
• CSCS and either SMSTS or SSSTS.
• Full UK driving licence.
