The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and growing Building Services consultancy in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a diverse portfolio.

You’ll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking team working on a range of projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on a variety of building services projects from concept through to completion
• Produce detailed designs including HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
• Carry out calculations, specifications, and technical reports
• Manage project delivery, ensuring quality, budget, and programme targets are met
• Attend client and design team meetings, acting as a key technical point of contact
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
• Coordinate with other disciplines including electrical, public health, and sustainability teams

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a Senior Mechanical Engineer role within Building Services
• Strong technical knowledge across HVAC and mechanical systems design
• Experience delivering projects across multiple sectors
• Proficiency in industry software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and IES (or similar)
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise across multiple projects
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Working towards or already Chartered (CIBSE / IMechE)
