Cloud Engineering Lead

Location: Southwest Wiltshire (Hybrid)

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Security: Must be eligible for SC Clearance

Copello are working with a leading defence organisation who are seeking a Cloud Engineering Lead to provide technical oversight across secure cloud platforms supporting complex, mission-critical defence programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor cloud engineers, providing technical direction across platform and infrastructure teams.

• Shape the architecture and design of secure cloud solutions aligned to programme requirements.

• Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies, DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.

• Ensure security, compliance and governance standards are maintained across cloud environments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and contribute to technical design and programme delivery.

Experience Required

• Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud architecture (certifications desirable).

• Background in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.

• Experience with containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker or OpenShift.

• Good understanding of cloud security, governance and highly regulated environments.

• Ability to lead technical teams within complex engineering programmes.

Desirable: experience within defence, national security or other regulated sectors, plus scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) would be advantageous.
