QA & Test Engineer (Safety-Critical / Embedded Systems)
I’m currently working with a fast-growing deep tech start-up building advanced safety systems for AI and autonomous technologies.
They’re looking for a QA & Test Engineer with strong experience in embedded and safety-critical environments to help validate complex hardware-software systems.
⚠ Please note:
Candidates must be British citizens and either hold SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and executing test strategies for safety-critical embedded software
- Working across Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environments
- Testing integrated hardware and software systems
- Building and maintaining automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborating with software, hardware and AI teams
Must-have experience:
- Embedded systems / firmware / RTOS testing
- Hands-on experience with HIL / SIL environments
- Hardware + software integration testing
- Experience with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262 or IEC 61508)
- Automation using Python (pytest, gtest or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines (hands-on, not just usage)
➕ Nice to have:
- ROS, Gazebo or robotics simulation experience
Location: Oxfordshire (3 days on-site)
Full-time, permanent
