Job description
NDT Electronic Services Ltd (NDTE) is the UK’s leading specialist in sales, service, repair, instrumentation calibration, and planned maintenance of industrial radiography Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment and systems.
We are looking for a high calibre Electrical or Electronic Engineer who enjoys fault finding properly, solving complex problems, and working on specialist equipment not found in most engineering environments.
This is not a repetitive production role. You will be working on specialist industrial radiography and NDT equipment, carrying out diagnosis, repair, calibration, and commissioning both in our workshop and occasionally on customer sites.

The role
• Diagnose, fault find and repair electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical systems
• Work on specialist radiography and NDT equipment used in industrial environments
• Carry out calibration, testing and commissioning of systems
• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance both in the workshop and on site
• Produce clear and accurate technical reports and documentation
• Support customers and act as a professional representative of the business when on site
• Contribute to improving processes, reliability and technical standards
What we are looking for
• Strong electrical or electronic engineering background with hands-on experience
• Proven ability to fault find on industrial equipment and control systems
• Experience working with PLC-based systems and industrial machinery
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of problems
• High personal standards and a safety-first mindset
Experience in some of the following would be advantageous
• Instrumentation and calibration
• Board-level or component-level diagnostics
• Mechanical fitting and assembly work
• Functional safety systems
What you will get
• Varied and technically interesting work, not repetitive production
• Exposure to specialist and niche equipment
• A stable, growing business with long-term opportunities
• Ongoing development and the chance to broaden your technical capability
• A team that values doing things properly and takes pride in its work
Additional requirements
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Ability to obtain security clearance
• Ability to provide consistent employment history
