Drone Hardware Engineer

Piper Maddox are currently working with an innovative company in the UAV / autonomous systems sector that is looking to hire a Drone Hardware Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

This role will focus on the design, development, and testing of drone hardware systems, supporting the build and optimisation of advanced UAV platforms from prototype through to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop drone hardware systems and electronic components
• Integrate sensors including IMUs, GPS, LiDAR, cameras, and communication modules
• Support PCB design, prototyping, and hardware testing
• Work closely with software and mechanical teams to integrate full UAV systems
• Conduct bench testing and flight testing to validate performance and reliability

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline
• Experience developing embedded electronics or UAV hardware systems
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, flight controllers, and sensor integration
• Experience with PCB design, hardware prototyping, and system testing
