Role Overview

We are seeking a Data focused Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting a data transformation, Improving data quality, consistency, and ownership across the business. This position requires strong SQL experience, stakeholder engagement and Insurance experience.


Key Responsibilities & Contributions

Stakeholder Engagement & Objective Gathering

  • Collaborated with business stakeholders to understand strategic and operational objectives across marine insurance classes.

Data Capture & Quality Assessment

  • Identify gaps and inconsistencies in data capture processes, highlighting areas where data quality and completeness required improvement.

End-to-End Requirements Analysis

  • Document and analyse end-to-end data flows and business requirements, ensuring alignment between underwriting, reporting and data teams.

Data Process Improvement

  • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to enhance data accuracy, structure and usability, addressing areas where current practices were below expected standards.

Class Hierarchy Standardisation

  • Review and refine class hierarchies to ensure consistency, logical structuring and alignment with business reporting needs.

Reporting Alignment & Optimisation

  • Work with stakeholders to standardise reporting definitions and outputs, ensuring consistency across all 10 insurance classes.


Skills Required

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and engage stakeholders effectively
  • Experience in data governance, including: Defining and managing data ownership AND Implementing and maintaining data quality frameworks
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis / interrogation
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience
