Junior Account Executive

Strategic Blue is looking for a Junior Account Executive

Job description

Company Description

Founded in 2010, we are a financial services organisation specialising exclusively in cloud procurement, cost management and optimisation. We provide Cloud Financial Operations, “FinOps”, services to both commercial and public sector organizations, primarily in the UK and US, who buy the cloud & AI services offered by AWS, Google and their respective marketplace sellers such as Anthropic.

Our FinOps services help cloud customers optimise how they buy cloud services. We help them understand their current and future usage, how best to commit to that usage for a discount, and, in some cases, allow them to buy that usage through us as their reseller, often leveraging government procurement frameworks.

We have some amazing customers, who leverage our services so they can spend less time worrying about financial optimization, and more time focusing on their core business - curing cancer in the case of Cancer Research UK, through to solving the global energy crisis in the case of Commonwealth Fusion Systems. One of the best things about working for Strategic Blue is getting to hear the details of how such varied customers are leveraging cloud and AI to deliver value through innovation.

Role Summary

We are looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic Account Executive to join our team in London. This is a unique entry-level role designed for an individual who is ready to roll their sleeves up and "get stuck in" across a variety of functions, bridging the gap between Sales Support and Account Management (Customer Success).

  • Customer Retention: Work to retain existing customers by assessing feedback and using creativity to refine our services.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Help create roadmaps for future cloud usage and find additional savings for customers to increase commitment.
  • Onboarding Support: Take over "new logos" (newly signed customers) during the onboarding stage to ensure a smooth transition into our service.

Sales Support & Enablement

  • Lead Progression: Directly assist the sales team and subject matter experts in generating and progressing new business leads.
  • Collateral Creation: Work with the sales team to create enablement materials and standard pitch decks that articulate our value.

  • Event Support: Help arrange and attend external partner events and international conferences, such as the Annual AWS London Summit

AI and Innovation:

  • Internal AI Environment: You will be trained to use our AI-enabled Innovation Environment to improve internal processes and efficiency.
  • Operational Efficiency: You will leverage Generative AI tools to automate manual tasks, helping you and the wider team manage sales administration and account management workflows more efficiently.

Person Specification

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (business or technical field preferred, but not essential)
  • Experience: You have some experience working in an office environment and are comfortable with professional communication.
  • Versatility: You are adaptable, self-motivated, and eager to take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • AI Aptitude: While no heavy programming is required, you must have an interest in learning and using Generative AI tools to solve problems.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to a small audience.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working
  • Private medical insurance
  • Dental scheme
  • Pension benefit scheme
  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays
