HGV Class 2 Driver

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy, well-established client based in Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

Shifts

  •  Monday to Friday
  •  Start times between 04:30 – 06:00, working until job finish

Rates of Pay

  •  £16.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  •  Carrying out deliveries to businesses and building sites
  •  Operating and driving curtain-side Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
  •  Completing pre- and post-journey vehicle checks
  •  Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with safety regulations
  •  Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
  •  Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
  •  Assisting with loading and unloading when required (heavy lifting may be involved)

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

  •  Minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category C vehicles
  •  Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  •  No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
  •  Excellent punctuality and time-keeping
  •  Good understanding of road traffic laws and regulations

Desirable Experience

  •  Previous commercial driving experience
  •  Multi-drop delivery experience

Training Provided

  •  Driver assessment required prior to starting
  •  Full induction provided on your first day
