Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our esteemed client (4* hotel) and ensure the smooth operation of the hotel by performing day-to-day repairs and maintenance for both interiors and exteriors. The successful candidate will work closely with the housekeeping team to maintain bedroom standards and be a quick responder to ad hoc requests. This role requires a hands-on individual ready to contribute to the upkeep of the property and eager to grow their knowledge of hotel maintenance processes.

- Carry out routine checks and maintenance tasks daily to ensure the hotel premises are in excellent condition.

- Promptly respond to and resolve maintenance issues reported by guests or staff, minimising impact on guest experience.

- Perform basic maintenance duties, including tile grouting, fixing carpets, and basic electrical work etc.

- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules to avert potential equipment failures and maintain safety.

- Monitor the condition of hotel furniture, fixtures, and fittings, and perform repairs or replacements as needed.

- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities without interrupting hotel services.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including logs of room issues and resolutions.

- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to industry safety standards and hotel policies.

- Assist with the set-up of conference rooms or event spaces as required.

- Attend training sessions to improve maintenance skills and increase knowledge of hotel systems.


The person:

- Proven experience in maintenance, in a hotel / hospitality / commercial setting. .

- Working knowledge of various maintenance tasks, including tile grouting, carpet repair, and basic electrical work.

- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.

- Physically capable of lifting moderate weights and engaging in continuous physical activity.

- Keen attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of work.

- Willingness to learn and expand technical skills.

- Basic understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
