Location: Birmingham, Office-based

Contract: Full time, permanent contract (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: up to £26,000 depending on experience

Role OverviewWe're looking for a Junior Compliance Analyst to join our growing Compliance team. This role is ideal for someone early in their compliance or risk career or with some knowledge or a keen interest in Compliance or Financial Crime prevention, or with transferable experience from a regulated or data-driven operational environment, who is looking to build hands‐on experience within a business authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This is a developmental role designed to build the foundations for a long‐term career in compliance as the team continues to grow.

You will work closely with the Senior Compliance Officer and MLRO, supporting customer onboarding, compliance monitoring, and record‐keeping, while developing practical experience of managing and mitigating, and investigating Financial Crime risk. This role has been created to support increased activity and growth within the Compliance team.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) checks in line with documented procedures

Review and assess customer identification and verification documentation

Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date customer records

Maintain compliance trackers, logs, and documentation

Support the preparation of compliance monitoring and reporting

Manage follow‐ups for outstanding information and actions

Review customer files for inconsistencies, missing information, or risk indicators

Escalate concerns appropriately to the Senior Compliance Officer

Support monitoring of shared compliance inboxes and routine queries

Develop working knowledge of AML, KYC, GDPR, and other regulatory obligations

Apply guidance consistently and seek support where judgment is required

Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance processes

Skills & Experience

Strong attention to detail and high standards of accuracy

Ability to follow procedures and apply guidance

Good organisational and time‐management skills

Clear written and verbal communication

Confidence working with data, systems, and documentation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Previous experience in a compliance, risk, or regulated (FCA/ PRA/ SRA etc) environment (desirable)

Exposure to AML, KYC, GDPR, or wider financial crime concepts (desirable)

Relevant degree, qualification, or interest in working towards one (desirable)
