Overview Maths Graduate – Learning Support Assistant - SloughLocation: SloughSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceContract: Full-time (term-time only), Fixed-term / PermanentWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate to join our school as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting students within the classroom environment. This role is ideal for a recent graduate considering a future career in teaching, education, or educational psychology.As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to help students access the curriculum, build confidence in mathematics, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

Supporting students during maths lessons, both one-to-one and in small groups

Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management

Helping students understand mathematical concepts and complete set work

Providing additional support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties

Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour

Preparing learning materials and supporting differentiated activities

Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

Qualifications

A degree in Mathematics (or a closely related subject)

A genuine interest in education and supporting young people

Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
