Buttons is a residential children and young peoples home for children and young people of both sexes who have a server physical or learning disability. The age range is 5-18 years.

At Buttons we work with a broad range of complex needs which some include:

Autistic spectrum conditions, Moderate or serve learning difficulties, Global developmental delays, specific language/ communication, and social emotional difficulties.

What you'll be working:If you are looking for a full time Senior Support Worker, your hours are based on a rota working every other weekend.

Permanent part time 36 Hours

Every other weekend

What you'll be doing:The post holder has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times. All staff are expected to act in accordance with safeguarding legislation, organisational policies, and statutory guidance.

Safer Recruitment & Compliance Section

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with children's barred list.

References and background checks will be required in line with safer recruitment practices.

Ongoing safeguarding training is mandatory for all staff.

Supporting our children and young people with daily activitiesEffectively lead the shift by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.Supporting their care plans to establish routineEnsure that all children and young people have up-to-date risk assessments and person centered along with Care and behaviour support plans in place and review and update as required with the service managerEnsure the children and young people feels safe, and stable within their day to day routine careCarry out personal careCover all aspects of the support worker role to work closely with the children and young people and the team on the floors in order to meet the needs of the service.To work on the floor at all timesTo be part of the on call teamResponsible for attending and completing all mandatory training.Administrating medication (if required)Support children and young people with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids e.g. Hoists, wheelchairs, modified bathing equipment

What you'll have:

Strong organisational, time management, planning and communication skills.

Flexible, professional, and positive approach.

Level 3 NVQ or Level 3 diploma in residential childcare (England) (RQ)or be willing to work towards after probation.

Proven reliability in terms of full attendance and timekeeping.

Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.

Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations

Driving License would be preferable

Ability to address and respond to employee issues in a fair and consistent manner.
