About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Practitioner, you’ll work in a structured, therapeutic setting that helps vulnerable young people feel safe, supported, and empowered. You’ll act as a trusted role model, build secure relationships, and support recovery from trauma with empathy and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Be a therapeutic parent and positive influence
  • Collaborate with education and wellbeing teams
  • Lead structured, enriching activities
  • Work flexible shifts incl. Weekends, early/late, and sleep-ins
  • Receive full induction and ongoing training

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK

Required Skills

  • Passion for working with children and young people
  • Emotional resilience, patience, and physical capability
  • Experience in residential or secure settings (preferred)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in residential or secure settings (preferred)

Pay range and compensation package

£32,780–£35,564 (incl. £5,000 Market Supplement) | 37 hrs/week, Permanent
