Primary School Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1

Academics are currently recruiting a reliable and adaptable Primary School Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 pupils across our partner primary schools in and around Ilkley.

This role is ideal for an experienced or aspiring Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of KS1 (Years 1-2), who is confident supporting learning in a range of school settings and understands the flexibility of supply work.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience supporting children across Key Stage 1
• Assist the class teacher with delivering pre-planned lessons and activities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
• Help maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Demonstrate a calm, patient and engaging approach
• Be flexible, professional and reliable for short-term, long-term or emergency cover
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and expectations

Academics works closely with a wide range of West Yorkshire primary schools, offering regular and flexible supply opportunities.
