Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) SEND

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £24,000 to £25,000 per annum
Hours: Full-Time | Permanent

• HLTA or TA qualification (desirable, but not essential with strong experience)
• A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A calm, patient and resilient attitude
• GCSEs in English and Maths
• A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection

The role Higher Level Teaching Assistant

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, youll work independently and alongside teachers to plan, deliver and adapt learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.

You will:

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups
• Deliver adapted learning activities and targeted interventions
• Provide short-term classroom cover when required
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Use ICT to support learning and engagement
• Contribute to assessments, progress tracking and reports
• Act as a key worker for a named child, providing consistency and support
