Job description
As a placement student in Quantity Surveying, you'll engage in daily site activities and report to senior engineers. You'll collaborate with industry experts to deepen your understanding of your project. With mentorship and coaching, you'll face exciting challenges that will help you build a successful career in this dynamic field. Expect some travel to various construction sites and company locations as part of the role.
Responsibilities
Assist with analyzing subcontract quotations
Assist with reviewing conditions and/or qualifications prior to submission of a tender
Assist with the preparation of interim applications, including works executed, materials on site and works by subcontractors is submitted to the Client's team by agreed deadline.
Assist with contract variations and help evaluate and measure these with Senior Quantity Surveyors
Assist with the procurement of subcontractors
Assist with generating payments and distribute notices to suppliers and subcontractors, including the measurement of works and differences executed to evaluate final costs and accounts.
Contribute to the submission of weekly financial forecasting including the assembling of contract costs.
Qualifications
Studying a Quantity Surveying degree
Hold a full manual UK driving license
Demonstrate a strong interest in the commercial aspects of engineering and looking for a dynamic workplace that provides an outstanding career opportunity
Excellent communication skills, be able to work flexibly in a team and be a hard worker
