CARE HOME: Kenyon Lodge Care Home – Little HultonJob Description We are not offering Sponsorship or Visa.Accountable To: Home Manager/Deputy/Nurse/Senior Care StaffJob Purpose: To provide care for the service users respective of their individual needs and in a manner to enhance their quality of life.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:Experience of working in the Care Sector preferredAn interest in caring for the service user groupTo understand and provide care for residents that meets individual needs.To understand the effect on care on residents and families.To assist the resident in any area of their daily care needs which they would normally undertake themselves if they were able to do so whilst promoting independence wherever possible.To participate in activitiesTo care for all residents needs as required with the aim of optimising their independenceTo read the Care Plans of each client to promote continuity of care.To complete and record documentation as required, to include, food/fluid intake/ changing position, applying topical creams, daily notes and notes of significant events.To understand the right of the individual to confidentialityTo understand and be aware of Deprivation of Liberty (DoLs) – England and Adults with capacity – Scotland.Within the Care Team, the following are examples of tasks which may be undertaken: – Care of clothes and personal belongingsBed making – empty and occupied.Moving and handling, dressing, and assisting residents in their daily hygiene and dressing needs.Personal hygiene – Bathing, care of the eyes, mouth, hair, and nailsCare of skin and pressure areasAssist with toilet requirementsEscorting residentsHelping to serve meals and drinks, assisting and feeding those residents whose need requires itRecording any necessary individual information i.e. Turn/tilt charts, fluid balance chartsObserving and reporting any changes in resident's condition.Be aware, understand individual care plans.

Always Observe the Homes Health and Safety policyTo report to Senior staff any hazard or unsafe equipment that may be injurious to the health and safety of staff, residents, and visitorsTo complete e learning and mandatory training, and other training as requiredTo answer call bells and give assistance as requiredTo be a valued member of the Key worker schemeTo promote and market the homeTo read, understand and abide by all company policies and proceduresTo Attend meetings as requiredNight DutyThis is a wakeful duty unless notified otherwise.This job description indicates the main duties and responsibilities of the post and is not intended as an exhaustive list.
